The William Whyte award is awarded by the Queensland Philatelic Council Inc. to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of a member of a stamp club or philatelic organisations.

Nominations from clubs or organisations affiliated with the QPC are called for yearly.

The nominations are made without the knowledge of the person concerned by their club and must address the criteria for granting the award.

The recipient is decided at the QPC Annual General Meeting in September each year, where attendees at this meeting consider the nomination in terms of the criteria for the award.
