Queensland Philatelic Council Inc.


The Queensland Philatelic Council Inc.is the representative body for Queensland on the Australian Philatelic Federation Ltd.
Its members consist of the majority of Queensland Stamp Clubs, some private collector members, many
Stamp Dealers and Australia Post.

It was formed to take the place of the two previous organisations - the Queensland Stamp Promotion Council and the Philatelic Association of Queensland, when they were dissolved in November 1985.


Aims

To promote, advise on and develop all aspects of philately throughout Queensland and to provide State representation for the hobby within Australia as set out in the Australian Philatelic Federation Ltd. guidelines.


Objectives

To foster and promote the pastime, hobby, study of philately and stamp collecting.

To represent, promote and co-ordinate the mutual interests of all bodies and individuals in the State who study, collect, write or have an interest in stamp collecting or philately.

To carry out research, provide services, raise funds and conduct exhibitions which may assist members and affiliated organisations

To award the William Whyte award which recognises a valued and hardworking member in the philatelic community within Queensland

To be affiliated with the Australian Philatelic Federation Ltd. representing philately at National and International levels

To encourage the formation of new philatelic groups and give all possible advice and materials for this purpose

To encourage the practice of philatelic ethics.

To assist in maintaining and supplying accredited judges for local, State and National exhibitions.

Assistance with approved publications.

Meetings

The Queensland Philatelic Council holds four quarterly General meetings and five other executive meetings each year.

These meetings are held on the first Wednesday of those Months at QPC House, except for January and September when it meets on the second Wednesday.

As the months which these meeting occur can change, depending on the Council's needs, please refer to the diary page or email QPC for confirmation.
